Acquaint yourselves with the exact production expenditure for manufacturers that is of upmost importance

Erfurt, 24. Februar 2011. In the scope of this years user forum “Practice Special“ of the software house HSi GmbH, Erfurt, the unanimous opinion of all participants was that over the course of the economic boom the knowledge of their own production costs and their exact production expenditure is of great importance. Around 50 participants, predominantly from machinery, plant and apparatus engineering, the automobile industry as well as the steel and toolmaking industry, attended this this two-day event  in February in Erfurt.

When concerned with planning times, work schedules and costs in production, the HSi is skilled as a solution-oriented technology partner. A business is able to consistently develop individually adjustable industry-focussed software solutions ranging from the pricing of an offer up to shop floor scheduling. HSplan and HSmont serve to determine planning times and work planning and also HSkalk for the pricing of an offer. This is possible via the application of the approved HSi-Technologiebasis, which consists of  pre-configured modules for virtually all mechanical manufacturing processes . These programmes result in the optimisation of the processing times, the minimisation of costs as well as higher cost effectiveness for the user.

HSi presents updates in HSplan, HSmont, HSkalk as well as HSauftrag in the user forum. It shows that with these new functionalities the expectations of the user are satisfied. These new features were brought in more detail by lectures from HSi employees, as follows:

Andreas Heß,  “Technical calculation with comparison of variants and location“,

Rene Kieser, “Work process detailed determination of target times in SAP“,

Christian Müller, “Quick calculation for tools used to cut, stamp and bend“ as well as

Michael Franke, “Transparent job control with HSauftrag“.

This year users have also further contributed with their field reports about the work with HSi, to bestow deeper insight on the participants about handling with planning tools:

Wolfgang Kroll, Hötter Industrie & Service GmbH, Dorsten
“ As equipment manufacturer have the complete product under control“,

Lothar Viße, Windmöller & Hölscher, Lengerich
“Time allocation automated via access to classifier“

Adrian Hayoz, Polytype S.A., Fribourg, Schweiz
“Common technology basis for work preparation and  NC Programming“

Ernst Bayer, Kinkele GmbH, Ochsenfurt
“Calculation with HSplan for subcontractors“

The meaning of these groups of themes was underpinned via partner contracts. The following gave lectures:

Dr. Lutz Schmidt, X-Case GmbH, Ilmenau
“HSplan/IS – Overview and updates on the integrated determination of time in SAP“

Christoph Groß, BCC Business Competence Center, Dillingen
“Win at pricing poker with customers via analytical determination of hourly rate and overhead costs“

Martin Erler, TU Dresden,Institut für Formgebende Fertigungstechnik, Arbeitsgruppe Produktionsautomatisierung, Zerspan- und Abtragtechnik [Institute for formative finishing technology, work group production automisation, machining and removal technology]“Geometric methods for estimating costs of milling“.

There was still enough time for the participants to exchange detailed experience between themselves as well as having one-on-one talks with HSi-employees. The feedback from these events has shown that via such an exchange of experience in line with a user forum new insight has been acheived by providers and users, which is able to be implemented in practice.
